Faithful Friends & Supporters,
There are no words to express the gratitude that Ellen and I have for you who have made it possible for us to serve the Lord full time for all of these years. God has been so gracious to us in giving us churches that have not only been faithful to contribute financially, but also to become involved personally through prayer and correspondence. We thank each one of you and pray for the Lord’s blessing on your lives, your families, and your ministries.
As you already know from my last letter, due to health problems and diminished capacity, Brother Jason Kersh is now directing LIVING LETTERS PRISON MINISTRY; and doing an excellent job. He is worthy of your consideration for the support that you have so faithfully given Ellen and me in the past. Should you choose to withdraw your support from Ellen and me personally, please prayerfully consider him for your mission’s family.
We have always tried to be up front and transparent in our lives and ministry and wish to remain so until the end. I have been asked a couple of times by supporting Pastors what my plans are for the future. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea what the future holds for us. I do know that it was time for us to make the move from the prison ministry and have no reservations whatsoever. The Lord gave us twenty-one wonderful and fruit-filled years and allowed us to go places and do things for Him that most only dream of; but when He says it is time to move, it is time to move. As Pastors, I am sure you know what I am talking about.
For now, my ministry is my family and my church. I have no plans beyond that except to continue to trust the Lord to meet our needs and help us daily to live for Him. If I can accomplish that, I will be content regardless of what the future holds for us.
Thank you again for all that you have done for us and rest assured that I have been completely honest about our situation. The last twenty-one years in prison have taken their toll on me physically and mentally and there are no other reasons for these moves to become necessary. It’s time to rest and be still before the Lord until He says differently.

This is the last letter that Dr. Campbell wrote to put on the website. In November 2021 Dr. James Rennie Campbell went home to be with the Lord. His memory and legacy will live on by the grace of God through Living Letters Prison Ministry. Please continue to pray for his wife and family.
